The School of Business Held 2024 Staff Fun Sports Meeting

On the afternoon of March 27th, amidst the spring drizzle and colorful cherry blossoms, the staff fun sports meeting of the School of Business at Jiangnan University was held at the northwest playground. Themed "Strive for Brilliance, Unite for the Future," this event aimed to enhance cohesion and centripetal force among the faculty and staff through a series of lively sports activities, improve their physical fitness, and collectively contribute to the bright future of the School. More than 70 faculty and staff participated in this event, and special invitations were extended to professional coaches from the Department of Physical Education, Gu Shaoxiong, and Cheng Huaping, to provide on-site guidance and serve as referees.

At the beginning of the event, Xu Jing, Vice Dean of the School, delivered a mobilization speech, emphasizing the importance of sports for the physical and mental health of the faculty and staff. She encouraged them to enjoy the fun of sports and improve their physical fitness through collective sports activities, thus investing more fully in their work with high spirits. Subsequently, the fun sports meeting officially kicked off, with the staff of the Business School divided into seven teams: Administration, Student Affairs, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, International Business, and Management Engineering.

Various exciting and colorful competitions such as the Caterpillar Race, Team Skipping, Unity Drumming, and Shuttlecock Kicking were held on the field. The Caterpillar Race was one of the highlights, where team members had to maintain the same pace and stride to swiftly move their "ride." Each participant shouted slogans and exerted their full effort, while colleagues cheered them on enthusiastically, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Following that, each team sent 10 representatives to participate in the Team Skipping event. With the rope swinging up and down, team members cooperated tacitly, swiftly moving to the rhythm of the rope, fully immersed in the joy of exercise.

The Unity Drumming event mainly tested the teamwork of the participants. Members of each team evenly distributed themselves around the drum, moving rhythmically and pulling the drum ropes together to create a continuous beat, allowing the ball to strike the drum incessantly. The Shuttlecock Kicking competition was also fiercely contested, with shuttlecocks drawing elegant arcs in the air upon the starting signal. Staff members of each team displayed light footsteps, focused gazes, and with the rise and fall of the shuttlecock, laughter and cheers echoed continuously, filling the scene with vitality.

In the end, in the Caterpillar Race, the Finance team, International Business team, and Accounting team secured the top three positions; in the Team Skipping event, the Marketing and Finance Joint Team, the Accounting team, and the Student Affairs and Management Engineering Joint Team claimed the top three spots; in the Unity Drumming competition, the Marketing team, the Accounting team, and the International Business team took the top three positions. In the Shuttlecock Kicking competition, the International Business team, the Accounting team, and the Finance team respectively secured the first, second, and third places with 55, 40, and 40 kicks in one minute. Additionally, the Business School Staff Union thoughtfully prepared a fun ring-toss activity for the staff during the breaks, allowing everyone to experience the joy of sports.

In Wuxi, March was the season of cherry blossoms. In this fun sports meeting, the staff had a close encounter with the campus's spring "qualities," "charm," and "vitality." The enthusiasm of the staff for sports intertwined with the vitality of spring, weaving together a beautiful scene of spring sports. Staff Union of The School attaches great importance to the physical and mental health of the faculty and staff, actively organizing various colorful cultural and sports activities. The successful hosting of this fun sports meeting not only provided a stage for the faculty and staff to showcase their talents and sweat but also promoted communication and interaction among them, fully demonstrating the positive and dynamic spirit of the Business School faculty and staff.
