On the afternoon of March 6th, to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, a special psychological lecture on "Rebuilding Parent-Child Relationships to Support Children's Growth" was organized by the Jiangnan University Staff Union and hosted by the School at Room 116. The event featured Associate Professor Xiao Lingyan from Jiangnan University as the main speaker. Xu Jing, Deputy Secretary of the School's Party Committee and Vice Dean, attended the event, chaired by Zhao Hailei, Chairwoman of the School Union, and Hu Fuzhao, Vice Chairwoman. Nearly 30 female faculty members attended the lecture, actively participating in discussions.

Xiao Lingyan is an associate professor at the School of Humanities at Jiangnan University, a member of the Jiu San Society Jiangnan University Committee, a national second-level psychological counselor, a part-time counselor at Jiangnan University Counseling Center, a part-time counselor at Southeast University, and a member of the Anti-Domestic Violence Expert Group of Chong'an District Court, Wuxi City. She is also an external psychological counseling expert at Lixuan Middle School in Wuxi City.

During the live presentation, Professor Xiao introduced the topic with the phrase "Relationship is more important than education, and relationship comes before education," highlighting the significance of interpersonal connections from birth. She used vivid examples to explain the profound meaning of parent-child relationships, emphasizing that parental love is directed towards separation. Analyzing four common types of parent-child relationships in China, their characteristics, and their impact on children, she proposed methods and strategies for rebuilding these relationships. In the interactive session following the main presentation, teachers raised questions about issues such as dormitory relationships for students living on campus, sibling relationships at home, and methods for teachers to care for students. Professor Xiao answered each question, showcasing her expertise and charm as a seasoned professional in psychology.

After over two hours of engaging lectures and interactions, the teachers at the venue experienced a comprehensive learning session on theoretical and practical aspects of professional psychology. Many expressed that Professor Xiao's lecture was insightful, practical, and provided direct guidance and enlightenment on personal aspects of parent-child relationships, caring for students, and the role of homeroom teachers. Ningbo Bank also provided sweet treats as a thoughtful gesture of care to the teachers attending the lecture. Teachers hope that the university's staff union will organize more related events in the future to support and promote harmonious family relationships and the physical and mental well-being of both teachers and students.
